With PicoCOM modules F&S goal is to offer as many standardized interfaces as possible, all fully supported by the integrated operating system. This allows rapid development of the application software with basic hardware knowledge. The entire CPU power management is already supplied on board and the card is connected to the customer's mainboard via a robust 80-pin connector. Only a few additional interface drivers are needed (RS232, Ethernet transformer). All the modules of this family have the same dimensions (40x50 mm) and use the same plug connector, where the first half of the pins carry fixed signals and the second half offers module-specific interfaces. Therefore, an upgrade to future modules of this series is possible at any time (upgrade to modules with higher processing power and more memory, as well as upgrade to later and cheaper modules).
