The family currently consists of four display formats: 3.5" - 4.3" - 5.0" - 7.0". All members of the family use IPS* panels: this technology ensures excellent readability from all angles. The wide operating temperature range from -30°C to + 80°C allows great versatility to the modules. Thanks to integrated high-performance automotive LEDs, the displays achieve a brightness of 1,000 nits with a half-life ** of 50,000 hours. This allows you to use the displays for more than 17 years, 8 hours a day at maximum brightness before it reaches only half its original brightness. The brightness of the backlight can be adjusted via a PWM pin and thus the duration can be extended. EDT goal was to simplify the display integration in the application, that is why all required voltages are generated directly on the FPC tail. Backlight driver is already integrated as well. Unlike many other displays, the sophisticated 50-pin (RGB24) interface provides enough ground lines to connect the low impedance display to the application. An additional metal plate on the back of the FPC, a conductive coating and a smart guideline optimize the EMC behavior of the displays.
* In-Plane Switching (IPS) (Source: Wikipedia) In-plane switching is an LCD technology that aligns liquid crystals in a plane parallel to glass substrates. In this method, the electric field is applied through opposing electrodes on the same glass substrate, so that the liquid crystals can be reoriented (switched) in essentially the same plane, although the edge fields inhibit homogeneous reorientation. IPS increases the stability of the contrast viewing angle.
** Half-Life - This means that the LEDs can continue to operate after consumption for the specified duration, albeit with lower intensity.
