NetDCU9 - Single Board Computer

NetDCU9 is the top product of NetDCU family. NetDCU9 is compatible (size, pin function and software) to the other NetDCU boards. Beside the functionality of the other NetDCU boards, NetDCU10 offers the following outstanding features:

- Graphic processor for display resolutions up to WXGA

- Possibility to connect digital RGB LCD AND analogoue LCD/CRT at the same time

- Input for analogue video-in (camera, DVD player ...)

- Compact flash interface for wireless lan cards (WLAN), mass storage (IDE)

NetDCU9 is special suited to use in applications with higher resolution displays (SVGA, XGA and SXGA) and data transfers by Ethernet or WLAN. Because the operating system is specially tailored and preloaded on NetDCU9 you can begin developing application software immediately. Knowledge of the CPU is not required. All interfaces can be accessed by standard drivers. A lot of interfaces are available such as LCD, touch panel and Ethernet interfaces, USB controller, an audio CODEC for speech and music output and PCMCIA slot. The LCD interface has been improved, TFT-display with a resolution of up to 1280*1024 pixels can be connected. Digital-RGB-interface, LVDS-interface (by additional adapter-board) and analog-VGA-interface (up to SXGA by additional adapter-board) offered.

The range of applications for which NetDCU9 is suited is virtually unlimited, especially applications are information terminals (POI) and industrial applications like forklift truck. By equipping the hardware with Watchdog and other monitoring functions, it can be used both in machines and measuring instruments and also in information systems or cash registers.

	Windows CE Users who already have experience in developing software for Windows will be familiar with the development environment. They can use Visual Studio from Microsoft to develop the application in C++, C# or VB.NET. Applications written for the .NET CF environment can run without re-compilation on NetDCU9 and PC. The real time kernel familiar from Windows CE 3.0 has been improved still further. Taken together with the increased processing speed of the NetDCU9, even faster response times to external events can now be achieved. In addition to improvements in detail, Windows CE also offers many new functions. For example, the web browser is now compatible with IE 6.0 and also supports not only XML but also SOAP. The integrated RAS server makes it possible to access the device through a modem. Because it supports the NTLM/Kerberos security protocol, it can easily be integrated into existing server structures.

	Embedded Linux The board-support-package (BSP) contains the bootloader u-Boot with a comfortable LCD-selection, the linux kernel 2.6.19 with all needed drivers for LCD, touchpanel, NOR and NAND flash, ethernet, RTC, audio AC97, digital I/O and matrix keyboard. Furthermore a USB (host and device), targetfs in the NAND flash with shell, libc, numerous utilities, grafical surface nano-X as well as some example programs are part of the delivered package. There is also a driver for the extension bus FS-BUS included which allows usage of external CAN interface of external dual USART interface. A modern and comfortable preinstalled cross-toolchain with cross-debugger is also contained.
