PicoMOD3
The PicoMOD3 is another member of the successful PicoMOD product family. This compact (80mm x 50mm) and inexpensive Single Board Computer is especially suited for mobile devices as well as for stationary devices in industrial (-20°C to +85°C) and medical applications.

The core of the PicoMOD3 is a Samsung ARM9 CPU with 533MHz. 64MB flash and 64MB RAM are available. And it is equally well equipped on the peripheral side: 4x serial, 2x USB2.0 (high speed), I²C, SPI, I/O, Audio, CAN2.0, Ethernet, SD and CF card and touch controller. In addition, the PicoMOD3 offers the same flexible display interface as is typical with F&S boards. All common STN, CSTN and TFT displays from 320x240 to 800x600 (SVGA) can be connected. The power supply of the PicoMOD3 is 3.3V/400mA. Naturally for all these interfaces there are software drivers included in the integrated operating system, Windows CE or Linux. A robust 140-pin connector is used to plug the PicoMOD3 onto the carrier board of the customer application.

Windows CE

Reuse your Windows know-how! Implement your software with Visual Studio .NET (not included in the starterkit) in the programming languages C, C++, C# or VB.NET. Windows Embedded CE 6.0 in connection with Compact Framework 2.0 build the ideal starting point for your software development on the PicoMOD3. Use interfaces like I²C in the same way as a serial port without having to deal with the underlying hardware. Configure the display and other settings with the F&S configuration tool. That's how easy software development can be.

Embedded Linux

The Board Support Package (BSP) is tuned especially to the hardware of the PicoMOD3 board. With improved U-Boot bootloader including a very comfortable LCD selection, current Linux kernel and drivers for all supported interfaces, several utilities and examples, this package proves to be cutting-edge technology. Naturally the adapted cross-compiler toolchain with debugger are also included and the software development can comfortably take place under the Eclipse environment.
